“I’m a Mac”

"I’m a Mac"

Originally uploaded by Mr_Cronquist.

I got a big kick watching grandma plug away on my computer while in
Montana. She was browsing photos in iPhoto, no problem. She’s pretty
hip.

With grandpa sitting next to her, this photo reminded me of the "I’m a
Mac and I’m a PC" commercials. Fitting.

Kaden embraces his roots . . .

Thanks to a fantastic deal with Allegiant Airlines, we have had the
chance to sneak up to Montana to introduce Kaden to his Great
Grandparents and my aunts and uncles. I can’t remember the last time I was in Montana, but it sure feels good to be back.

It has been so much fun to watch Kaden be passed around and he sure seems to be loving it too.

It was mere hours after landing in Missoula before Kaden donned his
first Grizzly uniform, thanks to Aunt Karen! Go GRIZ!

We spent today relaxing and playing around the house. Tomorrow, we’ll be heading up to the lake! I haven’t been there since the cabin blew up. Sad, but I’m looking forward to our time up there anyway.

BTW, Kaden’s first flight was just fine. The process of parking,
checking in, security, the luggage. . .not what I’m used to when I
travel. Instead of my carry-on and computer bag, I looked like I just
walked away from a bad yard sale with my new “treasures.” We made it though and he fussed about 15 minutes after take off for just a bit, which we attributed to the pressure. However, after that we just played and kept him distracted and he was fine. I was picturing it to be far worse, considering how I know people feel about the fussy kid that cries the entire flight.

I’m just glad that we’re not talking about driving home.

stopped many a time by this little invention by some genius that
realized that enough was enough. I guess a hand towel would have
worked as well, but this little thing is awesome and cleans up nicely.

So, there you have it Katie a little trick from the trade. . .I’m
going to have to start Daddy Blogging ;)

1st Mother’s Day

1st Mother’s Day

Originally uploaded by Mr_Cronquist.

What a beautiful day. So special.

I wouldn’t necessarily have been able to articulate exactly what I
thought Tarah would be like I as a mom before Kaden, however any and
all expectations have been exceeded. She is an amazing mother. All
of her best qualities are accentuated by motherhood. Amazing how God
works like that.

So, here is a photo of mom and son on the putting green at the Ojia
Valley Inn & Spa. We had a late champagne lunch there and met up with
our friends Forest and Raya.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of you special mothers and mother’s to be.
Having Kaden and watching Tarah with him has certainly made me
appreciate my mother that much more!

the jesusita fire in SB

Those of you that follow me on Twitter or Facebook have been getting
the regular updates, but mom reminded me that I hadn’t updated my blog
(Mom, you need to get on Facebook!).

I took this photo of the fire yesterday. This was the big flare up
that ended up causing all of the damage overnight. This photo is
taken out our back door looking up towards Santa Barbara. The fire is
approximately 12 miles north of where we are. It is safe to assume
that we do not have anything to worry about here in Carpinteria.
However, I will be sure to keep you posted and update the blog on at
least a daily basis.
