Thanks to my awesome wife, I had a chance to go golfing with a couple old friends of mine, my dad and Mr. Bob Buhl.  If you haven’t had a chance to see these two ina action on the course, you are missing out,  its worth the price of admission.

These guys even have "moves" on the golf course.  Be sure you grab a golf cart to keep up.

I can tell you, I defintely learned a few things from these "raisins."

Day 5: Black Butte

Day 5: Black Butte

Today was a nice bike ride for coffee with Tarah at the main lodge. I
am amazed at all of the activities that are available while you are
here. We passed kids on bikes, kids in the pools, runners, walkers,
guys fishing, people canoeing, people playing golf, basketball and
tennis and people riding on those weird four-seater bikes. There is
horse riding, but I only saw the horses, no riders.

After our ride, it was time for the guys to go golfing. We played
Glaze Medows, which according to the bike shop kid, its the harder of
the two courses. I have to agree.

After golf we had extended family over for dinner, Raylene’s sister
Carol and her husband Ernie and their daughter Linda and her girls and
11 month old son. It was a lot of fun, especially seeing Linda’s son
C and Kaden check each other out.

Another great day at Black Butte. . . "there is a place."

Another day in paradise. Vacations have changed forever, most notably recognized by the photo of our rented bike trailer. This was certainly a first. He had a great time riding along in this and raised his hands, like on a roller coaster, when we would go fast or go down hills.

Another great day at Black Butte. . . “there is a place.”

Enjoying our time at the pool with Mr. Man. He sure loves the water
and it sure wears him out. A perfect combo.

What has been really fun to watch is Kaden using the buoyancy of the water to walk around.

Day 2: Black Butte

BlackButte has so many activities for us to enjoy.  We started with a bike ride on the trails and then an afternoon at the pool, which Kaden just loved:

Tarah and I were responsible for dinner last night and we decided to try Salmon instead of the traditional steak dinner.  It turned out pretty good.  We love Black Butte.

Day 1: Black Butte

We arrived at Black Butte yesterday, having started at 4.20 a.m. in Carpinteria, a less then ideal flight with the little man and landing in 90 degree heat in Redmond.  We checked into the house around 3 p.m. after lunch in Sisters, walking the Sisters Chamber of Commerce Car Show and a trip to the grocery store.   I love BlackButte.

So when Kaden’s counsins arrived in the afternoon, it was the first time for them to meet Kaden and for us to see Kaleb (when you don’t count Skyping).  It was sure fun to see everyone together. . .  No longer the BlackButte where its just the three couples, now kids toys litter the floor and trips to the pool take on a whole new meaning.

Another great day at Black Butte. . . “there is a place.”

Kaden and I lounged at the pool at Casa de’ Carlisle’s on Saturday
while mom went shopping. We had a lot of fun. Kaden did a great job
holding his breath and going underwater when he would lunge out at me
from the ledge. Pretty cool.
